RMR-059: New Hiker Information Kiosk at Carver’s Gap

Carver's Gap new hiker education kioskNew Hiker Information Kiosk at Carver’s Gap

Freshly built at the Carver’s Gap / Appalachian Trail intersection is the new hiker information kiosk.

New Hiker Information Kiosk at Carver’s Gap has two panels. One panel gives tips on hiker etiquette and Leave No Trace information. The other panel has information on rare highlands plants and habitats.

This is an education effort to help everyone who hikes the balds to be more aware of how special and rare this place is. More and more first time visitors are “discovering” the mountain. There are new hikers born every year. These are the hikers that need to know and appreciate the value of the Roan Highlands.

Now that the fall color season is in full swing, be sure you check out the New Hiker Information Kiosk at Carver’s Gap when you go to see the colors.
