The Tennessee River by Randy Hedgepath, Tennessee State Naturalist
Randy Hedgepath, Tennessee State Naturalist, will be the Friday evening presenter at the Friends of Roan Mountain Spriing Naturalists Rally at Roan Mountain State Park. on April 24, 2015.
His presentation is The Tennessee River. He will take us on a 600 mile river travelogue that include the headwaters of the Doe River on Roan Mountain.

Remembering Ed Schell
As many of you know, Ed Schell passed away on January 16 of this year. ( Here is the obituary from the Johnson City Press – Ed Schell )
Ed was a great naturalist and a well known nature photographer. He was instrumental in fostering the study the natural sciences on Roan Mountain. He was a mentor and an inspiration to many of the Friends of Roan Mountain.
We would like to share some pictures from his hikes and presentations. If you have any pictures of Ed leading hikes or giving presentations, please send them to me to include in a slideshow that will be shown at the Spring Rally on April 24.
